This means Sky Mobile customers get O2's 4G and 5G coverage without going directly to O2. Coverage is, for practical purposes, identical to O2 direct.
Sky Mobile's USPs centre on data flexibility rather than raw performance: Piggybank (store unused data for up to 3 years), Mix monthly plan flexibility (change data allowance each month), and Swap12 (upgrade your phone every 12 months). Sky Mobile is most compelling for existing Sky TV or Sky Broadband customers.

Sky Mobile's Mix plans allow you to change your data allowance up or down every month with no penalty. Tiers range from 1GB to Unlimited. Piggybank data rollover applies on all non-unlimited plans. Annual price rise: RPI-linked (varies) with 30-day notice and exit right — you can leave without penalty if you disagree with the rise.
Sky Mobile's Swap12 scheme lets eligible customers upgrade their handset after 12 months on a 24-month contract — by trading in their current device in good condition. Combined billing with Sky TV and Sky Broadband is available, typically saving a meaningful amount for existing Sky customers.
Unlike most networks, Sky Mobile lets you change your data tier each month with no penalty. If you have a quiet month and don't use much data, switch down and save. If you need more for a holiday or heavy month, switch up. Piggybank means any saved data isn't lost.
Sky Mobile supports eSIM on compatible devices. Activation is managed through the Sky Mobile app — you receive a QR code or in-app activation link at sign-up. Compatible with recent iPhones, Samsung Galaxy S/Z series, and Google Pixel 3+.
As an O2 MVNO, Sky Mobile provides access to O2's 99% outdoor population 4G coverage and O2's 5G network (approximately 70% population). You can check coverage using O2's postcode checker — Sky Mobile doesn't publish a separate one as the infrastructure is identical. In practice, your signal experience as a Sky Mobile customer will mirror that of a direct O2 customer at the same location.
Sky Mobile offers EU roaming add-ons and some plans include Roam Like Home in selected destinations. The terms vary by plan and are updated periodically. For guaranteed free EU roaming, O2 direct or Tesco Mobile are the more straightforward options.
